How long does the romantic cruise take?

Our shared Amsterdam Light Festival cruise takes approximately 75 minutes. Private cruises can be tailored to your plans and can be booked for a longer duration.

What is included in a shared cruise?

Every shared ticket includes a 75-minute guided cruise and table bites. You can choose between drinks available for purchase, an open bar, or an option with open bar and Prosecco.

Can we have Prosecco on board?

Yes. Our premium shared ticket includes an open bar and one bottle of Prosecco per two guests. Prosecco and selected wines can also be arranged on private cruises.

Is glühwein available on board?

Yes. Hot glühwein is available while stocks last, making it a perfect winter drink while cruising through illuminated Amsterdam.

Can we book a completely private romantic boat?

Yes. You can charter one of our historic boats exclusively for the two of you. A private cruise gives you more freedom over the duration, drinks, boarding location and special requests.

Can I arrange a marriage proposal on board?

Yes. A private boat is a beautiful setting for a marriage proposal in Amsterdam. We can discuss the timing, drinks and special arrangements beforehand to help make the moment memorable.

Can I organise a surprise for my partner?

What will we see during the cruise?

What is the best time for a romantic Amsterdam Light Festival cruise?

Around 17:00 is one of our favourite times. The sun has just set, the artworks are illuminated and the canals are generally quieter than later in the evening.

Does the cruise operate when it rains or snows?

Yes. Cruises normally continue during rain, snow and cold weather because our boats are covered and heated. Cruises are only cancelled when conditions make sailing unsafe.

Is the Amsterdam Light Festival romantic during Christmas?

Very much so. The Christmas period combines the festival with Amsterdam’s winter atmosphere and festive decorations. It is also one of the most popular periods, so we recommend booking well in advance.

How far in advance should couples book?

Shared tickets are best booked in advance for Friday and Saturday evenings and the Christmas period. For a private cruise, anniversary or marriage proposal on a specific date, we recommend booking earlier to secure your preferred boat and time.
