Wapen Van Amsterdam

The Wapen van Amsterdam is the largest ship in our fleet. Her name, in Dutch, refers to the coat of arms of the city of Amsterdam. Built in 1950 in Antwerpen, this elegant ship had a colorful history before being commissioned as a passenger ship in the waters of Amsterdam. Her early years were spent as a ferry on Lake Brienz and Lake Thun in Switzerland, where she transported thousands of passengers for more than 50 years. In 2004, the Wapen van Amsterdam underwent a complete overhaul to become one of the most prestigious ships available for commercial use in Amsterdam.

The main deck consists of a spacious salon that celebrates the grandeur of old fashioned craftsmanship with extensive use of wood, copper, antique ornaments, fireplace, bar and a beautiful Brazilian cherry wooden floor. This elegant room can accommodate up to 175 people and is the perfect space for festive occasions, a grand wedding or an unforgettable reception. The open decks at the bow and aft of the ship and the huge sky windows in the salon give the ship a spacious and open character.

Enjoy a truly memorable cruise experience and discover what Amsterdam has to offer in addition to the canals. A large vessel, the Wapen van Amsterdam can cruise through the interesting city islands and harbor as well as to surrounding areas like the Amstel and Vecht rivers or to different villages along the IJsselmeer.
