Sailing on the Amstel River

Along the Amstel towards Ouderkerk aan de Amstel and Uithoorn, there were many country houses of wealthy Amsterdammers in the 17th and 18th centuries. Of all these country houses, two still stand along the Amsteldike; Oostermeer and Westeramstel. Wealthy merchants from Amsterdam built their homes here to unwind in these beautiful surroundings.

The old village center of Ouderkerk a/d Amstel is a protected village sight and houses several monuments, including the Portuguese-Israelite cemetery Beth Haim.
In Ouderkerk a/d Amstel, you can also enjoy beautiful terraces such as the Jagershuis and Paardenburg, both easily accessible by boat.
